Allergy shots

If your allergy symptoms are severe, or if you are in danger of developing a life-threatening reaction to a particular allergen, your physician may prescribe immunotherapy or "allergy shots."

This is a series of shots that may or may not help to control your symptoms. Immunotherapy is not a cure for allergies. In some cases, immunotherapy can be a beneficial allergy treatment. It can also be very expensive. Many allergy sufferers, however, find it well worth the cost.
